Investment Operations Analyst

About the Position:

The Investment Operations Analyst is the technology/data champion of the firm.  Looking for efficiencies through technology and investments the firm has made in increased technology resources. Responsible for our Black Diamond Performance Reporting system and Salentica CRM collecting, analyzing, and interpreting operation data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Responsibilities include building and generating reports, providing data-driven insights and collaborating with teams to implement process improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain data quality & accuracy.
  • Manage/ownership of the Black Diamond Performance Reporting and Salentica Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
    • Including trade order rebalancing software
  • Complete Global Investment Performance Standards reports and relationship management with eVestment.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support operational decision-making.
  • Assist with onboarding new investments, recording transactions and analyzing complex, non-traditional investments that involve non-standard contracts, cash flow processing, valuations, and document management throughout the investment lifecycle.
  • Trade execution and reporting.
  • Examine and analyze accounting records to assess accuracy, and completeness including net asset value, realized and unrealized gain/losses, expenses and accruals.
  • Review complex management and performance fees for private market asset class investments.
  • Generate regular reports for the COO and investment team, highlighting key performance indicators and operational metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercising independent judgment while developing expertise on functions, projects, and internal and industry-related initiatives.
  • Serve as operational support for organizational strategic and departmental initiatives, projects, and ad-hoc requests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or private market middle office, back office, and/or performance in an investment client servicing role. 
  • Understanding of investment operations, new concepts and regulations and technology (wealth management systems)
  • Excellent computer and application skills including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and articulately.
  • Superb work ethic, attention to detail, team orientation, and commitment to excellence
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability and desire to work in a team environment as well as dive into projects individually.
  • Ability to be adaptive, accountable and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
